Knitting has been the thread running through my life since I was a young girl in Iceland. My journey began in my grandmother Katrín’s kitchen, where I first learned to appreciate the rustic, honest character of Icelandic wool. In that small corner—my first einrúm, or
creative space—I learned that time is well spent on quality materials and that there is deep pleasure in the slow act of creation.

Though I now live in Denmark, my heart and my daily work are rooted in the einrúm Studio. While my husband Steffan leads our architecture firm, where I still contribute to select projects and provide creative feedback, my primary focus is the world of yarn. In both architecture and knitwear, einrúm represents the space and tranquility that comes from the creative process; it is the quiet sanctuary we find when we create something with our hands.

At einrúm, the yarn supports the design, much as the wool and silk reinforce each other. We create patterns for simple, modern garments where craftsmanship and pleasure are woven into every stitch. Our palette is carefully curated to reflect this balance, modern, yet timeless. We invite you to find your own peace of mind in the rhythm of the needles and the beauty of the finished piece.
