CONSTRUCTION
The mittens are worked in the round from the right side. The fingers are knitted half way up. Only the thumb is worked all the way up but features a vertical slit (the slit may be omitted). Increases on the back of the hand prepare for a fold-over mitten which is worked last. The mitten can be pulled up over the fingers or fastened under the folded cuff.
The length of the cuff and the fingers can easily be adjusted to personal needs (note that this may alter the amount of yarn needed). Unless otherwise stated, the descriptions below cover both the right and left mitten, but note that fingers, fold-over mitten and thumb slit are placed differently on the right and left mitten.

CARE
Wool is naturally stain and odour resistant and requires less washing than many fibres.
Airing wool garments outside in damp weather can often refresh them and remove odours.
However, when it is time to wash wool garments, here is how we recommend you do it.
DETERGENT / SOAP
Use mild or neutral detergents with a relatively neutral pH level, preferably those marked wool.
Avoid heavy-duty detergents and those containing enzymes or bleaches.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
By hand: Ensure the water temperature is steady, lukewarm or around 28°C/82°F.
Add a small amount of gentle detergent, submerge your wool garment, and soak it until completely saturated.
Rinse two to three times in clean water and ensure the same temperature. If using no-rinse detergent,
skip the rinsing steps. Press the water out of the garment, then roll the garment between clean, dry towels with light pressure. Alternatively, place the garment in a washing bag and gently spin it in the washing machine.
By machine: Use a washing machine with a wool setting and a gentle cycle.
DRYING INSTRUCTIONS
Lay the garment flat on a clean towel and reshape it as needed.
Leave to air dry away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
