DESCRIPTION

Foss is the Icelandic word for Waterfall. Ever since I created my Foss infinity scarf  after visiting Iceland, I’ve wanted to create a sweater of similar design. The random ribs were inspired by a tracing I made over a photo of the Seljalandfoss waterfall. It is one of the most beautiful, serene waterfalls in Iceland.

This oversized, bottom up, in the round sweater that begins with a 3x1 ribbed hem, followed with the random rib pattern, makes for a very flattering, easy to wear pullover. There are two length options – full or slightly cropped. It is divided into two halves for the arm holes, where the back and fronts are worked separately in the flat. There are a few short rows worked for shoulder shaping and then finished in a 3x1 rib boat neck or a mock turtle neck. The arms echo a smaller random ribbing detail.

This sweater is knit using the brilliantly structured yarn Einrúm E+2 (80% Icelandic Wool + 20% Thai Silk).
