The Ribbon Sweater was inspired by a shirt. This sweater has a super elegant design, featuring a knitted ribbon at the neckline that adds a unique touch. The front showcases a textured pattern, and you can personalise your KBG 22 Ribbon Sweater by adding your favorite buttons to the cuffs or even making your own, just as I did by sowing a buttonhole stitch tightly around a washer with the knots at the outer edge, until the disc is completely covered by stitches all the way around.
The Ribbon Sweater is designed to be knitted from the bottom up in the round. The front features a textured pattern, while the back and sleeves are worked in stocking stitch. A deep slit is incorporated at the center front, where the work is divided and then knitted back and forth.
The sleeve cuffs are created using double knitting, complete with a buttonhole. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and knitted along the edge of each cuff. Initially, the sleeves are worked back and forth to form a slit, after which they are joined to be knitted in the round.
Both the body and sleeves are knitted separately until reaching the armholes, at which point they are joined on a single circular needle to work the yoke back and forth. The yoke decreases are cleverly designed to create the illusion of set-in sleeves. Finally, the neckline is finished with a double-knitted ribbon featuring long tails that can be tied at the neck.
